In this the 9th year of the Fellowship Of Hope Church Pastors Conference, Perth Bible College has organized this program again with the helping and supporting of our local churches – a partnership that continues such very helpful training once again. The theme this year was, “Born again to a Living Hope.”

Our purpose is to help the leaders, pastors, youth in all the churches to understand more about how to teach God’s word, evangelism, caring and encourage the church member to keep their faith and their believe. And more is to share experiences or testimonies with each other and build up the relationships of support with each other through a training course. Especially the pastors from rural areas often comment that they no longer feel alone but feel part of a larger family of support and care.

All participants are happy to have gained knowledge, experience, communication, and good lessons, which are useful for them to train others in their local area. We strongly hope that this will be continued in the future. Thank you very much for Perth Bible College, which has makes this program possible every year and supports the local leadership of our church network.

Fellowship of Hope Church (FHC) is continually committed to conduct our annual Pastors and Leaders conference in this year with our fabulous partner from Perth Bible College (PBC). The conference was held from 10th till 15th July 2017, which located in Siem Reap at the Dara Reang Sey Hotel. The first day had arrived, all pastors and church leaders were enthusiastic and gathered together by catching the 2 buses ahead to Siem Reap which has a breathtaking world heritage site known as AngKor Wat Temple, as they spent approximately 6 hours on the jounery. Significantly, there were 110 pastors and leaders who took place the conference for this year.

The theme of the conference was ‘‘Serving with Integrity’’, likewise the Godly servants have to loyally serve and illustrate God’s willing with love and honor to others, by not determining about race, color, religion, sexism and nationality…etc. Moreover, the young leaders are motivated to involve more by the following tracks which paved the way by elder pastors. Particularly, there were 2 sessions in a day at the morning and the evening, the first session at the morning was divided by 2 phases, there was a teaching session which followed by groups’ discussion, and then four different workshops after the break-time. And in the evening, there also was other teaching session. Interestingly, there were a great spirit of worship and unity in the place and everyone was challenged to draw closer in order to work much more effectively for the kingdom of God before each session was begun.

During the conference, the three senior pastors from FHC’s “mother church” conducted a 2km marathon along with 35 participants from the conference joined, as they want to raise money for building the mother church building in Phnom Penh which locate in Takmao. As all participants had to pay $2.50 each for church building fund. When this building is completed, FHC would not need to rent the existing church facility.

This July Perth Bible College will be sending another team to Cambodia, working alongside the Fellowship of Hope Church and the work of Serve Cambodia in Phnom Penh. During the mission trip, PBC will also be involved helping to run the 7th Pastors and Leaders Conference for all of the church leaders associated with the Fellowship of Hope Churches in Cambodia to join together in one place.

Conference picture

The focus of this year’s conference will be discipleship, under the banner of “Growing Together.” This particular topic was specifically chosen by the pastors at the end of the last conference. They see the need to have their people understand what it means to be a maturing Christian in a difficult and often hostile context. The week of training will again serve to strengthen the pastors, encourage and unite the people, and have them return to their own churches as more effective servants of Christ. This training will impact on the growth of over 60 regional and village churches across Cambodia.

The leaders who attend these conferences are mostly very poor, many surviving from day to day (often on less than $5/day). To be able to attend the conference they will need others like us to assist in meeting transport, food and accommodation costs. The Fellowship of Hope churches together with Perth Bible College have in faith committed to the project. It is anticipated that this conference will have 120 participants, focussing on the church pastors and other key leaders. The total cost of the conference will be $18,000AUD (depending on the exchange rate), which will provide 5 days of in depth training for the pastors and leaders. We invite you to share financially and prayerfully in this work. All funds raised go toward supporting the training of the Cambodian conference delegates. If you are able to assist, tax deductible donations can be made via Perth Bible College – download a copy of the conference flyer for details on how to donate. <Download conference flyer>
