The Fellowship Of Hope Church has collaborated with the Perth Bible College  in Australia to create the annual Pastors Conference to help the church leaders, youth and many other people for our many different member church congregations across Cambodia. Every year we have a total of about 120 leaders joined in the conference.

In this the 9th year of the Fellowship Of Hope Church Pastors Conference, Perth Bible College has organized this program again with the helping and supporting of our local churches – a partnership that continues such very helpful training once again. The theme this year was, “Born again to a Living Hope.”

Our purpose is to help the leaders, pastors, youth in all the churches to understand more about how to teach God’s word, evangelism, caring and encourage the church member to keep their faith and their believe. And more is to share experiences or testimonies with each other and build up the relationships of support with each other through a training course. Especially the pastors from rural areas often comment that they no longer feel alone but feel part of a larger family of support and care.

All participants are happy to have gained knowledge, experience, communication, and good lessons, which are useful for them to train others in their local area. We strongly hope that this will be continued in the future. Thank you very much for Perth Bible College, which has makes this program possible every year and supports the local leadership of our church network.

This July Perth Bible College will be sending another team to Cambodia, working alongside the Fellowship of Hope Church and the work of Serve Cambodia in Phnom Penh. During the mission trip, PBC will also be involved helping to run the 7th Pastors and Leaders Conference for all of the church leaders associated with the Fellowship of Hope Churches in Cambodia to join together in one place.

Conference picture

The focus of this year’s conference will be discipleship, under the banner of “Growing Together.” This particular topic was specifically chosen by the pastors at the end of the last conference. They see the need to have their people understand what it means to be a maturing Christian in a difficult and often hostile context. The week of training will again serve to strengthen the pastors, encourage and unite the people, and have them return to their own churches as more effective servants of Christ. This training will impact on the growth of over 60 regional and village churches across Cambodia.

The leaders who attend these conferences are mostly very poor, many surviving from day to day (often on less than $5/day). To be able to attend the conference they will need others like us to assist in meeting transport, food and accommodation costs. The Fellowship of Hope churches together with Perth Bible College have in faith committed to the project. It is anticipated that this conference will have 120 participants, focussing on the church pastors and other key leaders. The total cost of the conference will be $18,000AUD (depending on the exchange rate), which will provide 5 days of in depth training for the pastors and leaders. We invite you to share financially and prayerfully in this work. All funds raised go toward supporting the training of the Cambodian conference delegates. If you are able to assist, tax deductible donations can be made via Perth Bible College – download a copy of the conference flyer for details on how to donate. <Download conference flyer>

This year Perth Bible College will be sending another team to Cambodia in July, working alongside the Fellowship of Hope Church and the work of Serve Cambodia in Phnom Penh. During the mission trip we will also be involved in holding the 6th Pastors and Leaders Conference for the church leaders associated with the Fellowship of Hope Churches in Cambodia.

All together

The church in Cambodia is growing and people are receptive to hearing the gospel. However, with the church commencing in 2007, and most of the members being new Christians, the church leaders need the opportunity to grow deeper in their faith and be strengthened for service in a land of much darkness. Among these leaders there is limited ongoing training and these conferences give a unique opportunity for the leaders to come together for such a purpose. The week of training will again serve to strengthen the pastors, encourage and unite the people, and have them return to their own churches as more effective servants of Christ. This training will have a big impact on the growth of over 60 regional and village churches across Cambodia. Please pray for this significant work.

In the last 3 month till now we have done more than 9 family interview form so far. It’s such a privilege to hear about their life getting difference from before. We are so proud of them to see they are growing in the better way. Through the talking we have some fun time and also we have some time to play game together to make it joyful and easy for them.

Anyway, we find out one thing that they are wish to have in the future is the land and house ownership that belong to themselves. We have encourage them to set up a good plan to achieve their goal if they are really keen to see that in the futures. So we have encourage to them work harder and try to save up the money that they earn today to have a good family budget plan so they able to get the loaning from other Micro finance organisations to achieve their plan in the future. Some of the families have been saving really well for the past few months now according to their budgets and are very encouraged about this.

Everybody in the world wish to have better place to stay and live in the good condition, so do the people in our community as well, they want something that they can achieve for themselves, and see the results of their own hard work and commitment. Finally, please pray for them to achieve their goal of what they wish to do in the futures.
